Delete Your Account & Data

TownLinc gives you full control over your account and personal data. You can delete your entire account from within the app, or request deletion of specific data while keeping your account active.

Delete Your Account

To permanently delete your TownLinc account and all associated data:

1. Open the TownLinc app or visit app.townlinc.com
2. Go to your Profile tab
3. Scroll down to Settings
4. Tap Delete Account
5. Confirm by entering your password

Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

• Your profile information (name, email, phone number, bio, avatar)
• Your carpool schedules and ride history
• Your carpool requests and join requests
• Your messages and conversations
• Your notifications and push notification tokens
• Your family member profiles
• Your group memberships and connections
• Your invitation history
• Your introduction requests

Request Data Deletion Without Deleting Your Account

You can request that we delete specific categories of your data while keeping your account active. This gives you more control over what information TownLinc retains.

Data you can request to have deleted:

• Ride and carpool history
• Message history
• Profile details (bio, phone number, avatar)
• Notification history
• Invitation and introduction history

To request selective data deletion, email us at support@townlinc.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and specify which data you would like removed. Please send the email from the address associated with your TownLinc account.

Processing Time

Account deletions initiated through the app are processed immediately. Selective data deletion requests sent via email are processed within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once your request has been completed.

Data Retention

After account deletion, we may retain certain anonymized or aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may also retain data where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes.
